Iristel is now the worldwide exclusive distributer for Algeria numbers. Only with Iristel’s ALGERIA CONNECT offer, phone calls from Algeria can be received by the subscribers regardless of where they are located in the world, using an Algerian virtual phone number. You will receive your own Algerian number on which you can receive unlimited calls from Algeria. The number will be assigned to your regular Canadian phone line, making the connection seamless to you. The callers will only pay the cost of a national call*, giving you a virtual presence in Algeria. *Charges vary depending on the carrier used by the caller. How does it work

An International Virtual Number can be forwarded to your Iristel VoIP line, to a regular landline, or even to your mobile phone number. The minute your new number is assigned, you can start receiving unlimited phone calls, by paying only a monthly fixed rate.

No Internet, computer or any additional equipment is needed. For example, you live in Toronto, but your family/ customers are located in the United Kingdom. You can assign a London number to your Toronto number and the callers can reach you paying only local rates. You can get the service running in only 3 steps:

• Choose the phone number that you wish to receive phone calls on*
• Send your friends and business associates in the desired country contact number.
• When this is done, they will be able to call you paying only local phone rates.

Can I give up my normal phone line if I sign up for VoIP?

As a primary service provider, Iristel enables a smooth transition process for its subscribers. To that end, customers can transfer their existing phone number to the Iristel network. By connecting Iristel’s Broadfone Gateway to the nearest telephone jack subscribers are not changing anything in the way that they are accustomed to communicating. They can:

• Continue to use all of the phones around the home
• Use a free telephone jack for fax transmissions
• Include their number with the standard directory listings
• Access 911 service

In the current telephone system, calls are transported on systems referred to as circuit-switched technology. This establishes a “permanent” connection between the caller and the receiver for the duration of the call.

The limitations of this technology are that it requires significant bandwidth for a call and only certain types of calls can be supported (i.e. phone to phone). Additionally, the hardware needed to run circuit-switched networks is expensive.

Voice over IP (VoIP) Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a service that provides its subscribers with a “virtual” private VoIP network that runs on top of a shared IP network managed by Iristel.

All subscribers that share the same PBX can call each other seamlessly as though they were talking on a totally private network. The VoIP PBX enables decreased cost on international calls, convenience in international calls, and convergence with other applications and services and provides a cost effective and a feature rich alternative to traditional PBXs.

A traditional PBX/telephone system requires an on-site technician to add/remove lines, perform repairs on the voicemail server or re-arrange a telephone groups. Iristel not only eliminates the need for extensive investments in traditional PBX systems, we can also remove the need for regular PBX maintenance fees through hosting your PBX.

With our hosted PBX service, you will only be responsible for placing Iristel’s IP Phones at each of the required work stations – on-site or off-site. Iristel will manage your company’s IVR and PBX needs, including:

• Routing calls to the appropriate IP Phone
• Handling the features associated with each extension on your system
• Ongoing maintenance and management of your voicemail server
