Iristel is very proud to be running an expansive homogenous network powered by leading, carrier grade switching facilities to terminate its international and overseas traffic. Internet telephony servers link IP networks with the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), lowering long distance costs and providing a wealth of enhanced services. These Internet telephony servers are based on a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) platform and are compatible with leading industry standards.
Iristel seamlessly bridges the gap between IP networks and the PSTN. Our VoIP solution is ideal for Calling Card, VoIP carriers, CLEC’s, Asterisk owners, virtual carriers and Residential or Business customers requiring local telephone service within Canada. Iristel operations include over 20 global Points of Presence (POPS) and also maintain a local presence in seven Canadian provinces.
Iristel works with many worldwide partners to establish and upgrade our worldwide mobile network. We run a fully redundant national network with multiple Class IV and Class V switches located in multiple switching facilities across Canada to ensure network redundancy and stability.
We offer:

Iristel’s Switches
Nextone Class IV Switch
NexTone™ Communications is a market leader in scalable session management of real-time IP services. Iristel has deployed NexTone’s Multiprotocol Session Controller (MSC) as part of its network for wholesale international VoIP services.
With the flexible and easy to use NexTone MSC, Iristel can speed deployment of services to new carrier customers by eliminating the need for media gateways at customer sites to translate IP calls into TDM (Time Division Multiplex). Iristel can interconnect with customers at the IP level, eliminating the need for customer equipment and reducing the time it takes to deploy service from weeks to minutes. In addition, the MSC enables Iristel to offer retail and wholesale operators a SIP phone termination service.
Broadsoft Class V Switch
The Broadsoft Class V Switch offers unmatched flexibility. Applications operate independently of the underlying architecture and transport network, and can be used to direct calls and apply enhanced call treatments within and outside of Iristel’s packet telephony network.
