Iristel SIP-Based Solution Now Avaya Compliant

SIP Trunking service compatible with Avaya IP Office offers SMBs new option for
high quality services that deliver communications capabilities they need

TORONTO June 7, 2010 – Iristel Inc., a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) operator licensed by the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), today announced that its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking service is compliant with key Internet Protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

Iristel’s SIP Trunking service enables customers – including small to midsize businesses (SMBs) – to converge local, long distance and private voice traffic on a single IP backbone to reduce network costs and maximize returns on their IP investments.  The service is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya IP Office.

As a Gold member of the program, Iristel is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.  Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure – speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.
